What

Guru Purnima is observed by offering gratitude and respect to one's teachers — spiritual, academic, or otherwise — often through a visit, a gift, or simply a deliberate expression of thanks.

Why

The day is traditionally associated with the sage Vyasa, credited with compiling the Vedas and composing the Mahabharata, honoring the enormous debt owed to those who preserve and pass on knowledge across generations.

• Identify one teacher, in any field, you haven't properly thanked
• Write or say something specific about what they taught you
• Revisit a lesson from a teacher that still shapes how you think
• Consider how you might pass something forward yourself
