Chapter 2, Verse 46

यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदके । तावान्सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः ॥

Translation

To one who has realized the truth directly, scripture is of no more use than a small well is when there's already a flood of water everywhere.

Explanation

It's a striking thing for a scripture to say about itself — that its usefulness has a natural limit, and beyond that limit, direct experience matters more than any text, including this one. It's a good check against turning any teaching, however good, into a substitute for actually living it.
