Chapter 9, Verse 30

अपि चेत्सुदुराचारो भजते मामनन्यभाक् । साधुरेव स मन्तव्यः सम्यग्व्यवसितो हि सः ॥

Translation

Even one of poor conduct, if they turn to me with single-minded devotion, should be regarded as righteous, for they have resolved rightly.

Explanation

This is one of the more radical claims in the text — that a person's worst chapter doesn't permanently disqualify them from a genuine turn toward something better. Wherever you're starting from today, the verse insists that the starting point isn't the whole story.

Reflect

What past mistake have you been treating as more permanently disqualifying than this verse suggests it needs to be?
