ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते । सङ्गात्सञ्जायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोऽभिजायते ॥
Translation
Dwelling on sense objects breeds attachment to them; from attachment, longing arises; from longing, anger is born.
Explanation
This verse maps a chain most people recognize once it's pointed out: dwelling → attachment → craving → frustration when the craving isn't met. Naming the early link in the chain — the dwelling itself — gives you a much earlier point to intervene than waiting until the anger arrives.
