Chapter 9, Verse 27

यत्करोषि यदश्नासि यज्जुहोषि ददासि यत् । यत्तपस्यसि कौन्तेय तत्कुरुष्व मदर्पणम् ॥

Translation

Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, whatever discipline you practice — do it as an offering.

Explanation

The list is deliberately ordinary — eating, giving, working, practicing — because the instruction isn't to do special, spiritual things. It's to bring a certain quality of attention to the completely unremarkable things you were already going to do today anyway.

Reflect

Which of today's ordinary tasks could use a shift in attention rather than a change in the task itself?
